Welcome to The White Horse Pub and Restaurant
The White Horse - “A Proper Pub and Restaurant”- and that’s what we are.
We have been family run for 30 years and here to let you wine and dine in
a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. The present White Horse was built
in the 18th Century after moving down from its previous dwelling at the
'Hambrook Grove'. It has always been an Inn and comes with all the tales
and stories of its history. We have been studied by a paranormal activity
team and our resident ghosts did show signs of activity but did not appear.
(The report can be read).
Its present landlord and lady are Les and Maxine Brooker, carrying on the
footsteps of Les' Mum and Dad, Charles and Elsie. As a family, Charles,
Elsie and Les arrived at the pub in August 1977. Les meeting the lovely
Maxine as a barmaid in 1980 and finally marrying her in 1986. Father has
now passed away and Mother has now retired and so Les and Maxine are there
to greet you and make your visit as welcome as can be.
We are a family pub and as that suggests we cater for families whatever
the age, having a beer garden, nicely tucked away as well as a children’s
play area, making it a great place to sit and relax with a refreshing drink,
in the summer months, whilst the children play. We serve a full selection
of draught beer, wine and spirits for your enjoyment along with a lovely
range of soft drinks for all those non-drinkers and drivers. With disabled
access and a car park on the premises this makes the pub easily accessible
for all, and to keep all customers amused there is a jukebox and a dartboard.
So customers don’t go hungry we offer a lovely selection of traditional
home cooked food, either served throughout the lounge bar or throughout
the well maintained restaurant area. Please find the menu on this website.
So come and see for yourselves and become one of our ‘regulars’ very comfortably.
